Miklós obtained his PhD degree in mathematics at Moscow State University in 1989. His main research areas include random fields, multivariate statistics, and their applications in insurance, finance, and geology. From 1990 to the present, he has been working at the Department of Probability Theory and Statistics at Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest. In addition to academic activity, he has been working as a consultant since 1991, mainly in insurance. Miklós was the president of the Hungarian Actuarial Society between 2003 and 2007 and he is an active member to date.
